Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to work carried out by QikFit Home Improvements, a trading name of Delux Doors Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company no. 17113534.

1. Quotations and when you get one

We do not always price a job on the day we visit. Straightforward work we can often price while we are with you. Larger or more involved jobs — kitchens, bathrooms, anything where materials need pricing up or a supplier needs checking — we will work out after the visit and send you a written quotation shortly afterwards. We would rather take the time and give you an accurate figure than quote on the spot and revise it later.

Whichever applies, you will always have the price in writing before any work begins. Quotations are valid for 30 days and are based on what we can see and measure on the day. If work uncovers something we could not reasonably have known about — rotten timber, uneven floors, hidden pipework or wiring, non-standard openings — we will stop, explain the position and agree any additional cost with you in writing before continuing.

2. Removing and disposing of your old fittings

Taking away your old doors, units, flooring or bathroom suite is not included as standard. We are happy to remove and dispose of them for you, but it is charged as an optional extra and will be itemised separately on your quotation so you can decide whether you want it. Disposal costs vary with the volume and type of waste, which is why it is priced per job rather than built into the headline figure.

If you would rather deal with it yourself, that is completely fine — just let us know and we will leave everything stacked tidily where you want it.

3. Deposits and payment

Where materials are ordered specifically for your job we may ask for a deposit to cover them. The balance is due on completion unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We accept bank transfer and card.

4. Your right to cancel

Because we quote in your home, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of agreeing the work, without giving a reason. If you ask us to start within that 14-day period and then cancel, we may charge for work already done and for materials already ordered or cut to size. To cancel, tell us by phone or email — you do not need to give a reason.

5. Access and the working area

Please make sure we can get to the areas we are working in, and move or cover anything fragile or valuable beforehand. We use dust sheets and clean up at the end of each day. If we cannot get access on an agreed date we may need to charge for the lost day.

6. Timescales

Any dates we give are our honest best estimate. Supplier delays, weather and unforeseen site conditions can move them. We will tell you as soon as we know if a date is going to change.

7. Materials, timber and natural variation

Timber is a natural material. Grain, colour and figure vary between doors and between batches, and samples are indicative rather than an exact match. Timber also moves with heat and humidity, so a small amount of expansion or contraction is normal and is not a defect.

8. Older properties

Many houses round here have out-of-square openings, uneven floors and frames that have shifted over decades. We will always tell you where a perfectly even gap or a perfectly level line is not achievable without additional work, and what that work would involve.

9. The visualiser

Images produced by our online visualiser are computer-generated impressions. They are not photographs of work we have carried out, they are not a quotation, and they do not form part of any contract. Real materials, grain, colour, proportions and lighting will differ. Photographs you upload are used to generate your image and to respond to your enquiry, and are not published or sold.

10. If something is not right

Tell us. Ring 01254 449296 or email george@qikfit.co.uk and we will come back and look at it. Your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — that work is carried out with reasonable care and skill, and that goods are of satisfactory quality — are not affected by anything on this page.
